Lottery spotlight – Chicken Soup Run

Our community lottery is only as good as the good causes it supports, and the Loughton based Chicken Soup Run is a fantastic example of what can be achieved together.

The Made With Love Chicken Soup Run is now the top ticket seller on the Epping Forest Community Lottery (EFCL) since it joined last year. They are on course to raise £4,000 this year to help support their incredible work in the local community.

About The Chicken Soup Run

The Made With Love Chicken Soup Run is a charity that delivers home cooked meals to roughly 170 elderly and vulnerable people every Friday. 40 volunteers work tirelessly chopping, cooking, filling bags, driving and caring for everyone they support. The food packages are not only filled with delicious ‘made with love’ kosher chicken soup and challah, but they also always contain lots of other surprise goodies – enough for 2 meals per recipient.

Recipients are not only grateful to receive the food but also and even more importantly, to have a regular smiling face visit them every week to deliver the goodies.

Spreading the word

Since joining the EFCL in October Chicken Soup Run now have 44 supporters buying 165 tickets every week, which, incredibly have had 52 wins so far!

Shout about the wins! There are more chances to win than in the national lottery, since joining in October 2025 our supporters alone have had 52 wins

Tell people how easy it is to buy a ticket. At events such as sponsored fundraising activities and volunteer celebration evenings, use any opportunity to tell people how easy it is to buy a ticket, how much they could win and what it means for the charity

Regular communication with supporters. We create a monthly newsletter which highlights what’s going on, celebrates the volunteers and promotes fundraising opportunities like Epping Forest Community Lottery

Play today to support local causes

Tickets cost just £1 per week and there’s a 1 in 50 chance of winning a prize. The top prize is £25,000, and additional prizes include £2,000, £250, £25, and free entries.

Players simply select their numbers and choose a local good cause to support.
